LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – The University Interscholastic League has made a decision that every high school in the Lubbock and South Plains area have been awaiting.
UIL realignment is every two years. Teams are assigned in districts with neighboring schools of similar size, and generally the UIL tries to keep travel to a minimum.
The biggest question, typically, is which teams will move up to a bigger bracket or down to a smaller one.
The biggest change in the NewsChannel 11 viewing area, that came from the UIL reclassification and realignment, is that schools in 1A have been grouped with schools that are further away, so they face longer drives to games.
