LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Starting Friday, February 5th, the intersection of 34th Street and Indiana will be under construction. The City of Lubbock Water Utilities Department is replacing aging infrastructure with a new large water main to improve the reliability of water distribution in the area.
This will affect traffic in the area, being that the new water main is being buried under the street.
The construction will last until Sunday, February 7th. Northbound Indiana Avenue traffic will be closed down to one lane and Westbound 34th Street traffic will be closed down to one lane.
Southbound Indiana and Eastbound 34th street traffic will not be affected.
This project will affect traffic flow since the new water main will be buried within the City of Lubbock street rights-of-way.
