LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The former principal of O'Donnell High School has voluntarily surrendered his teaching certificate.
Clay Burns submitted his resignation to the O'Donnell superintendent last Wednesday. He has now surrendered his teaching certificate, meaning he will never be able to teach again in a Texas public school.
Burns was under investigation by the Texas Education Agency for "educator misconduct."
The allegations occurred while Burns was employed at Sweetwater ISD and O'Donnell. The Sweetwater superintendent tells us there are no records of Burns ever doing anything wrong.
Now that Burns surrendered his certificate, the Texas Education Agency tells us the investigation stops.
