Fort Bliss helicopter crash victim has ties to Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A medical helicopter crash at Fort Bliss, just outside El Paso claimed three lives.  Army administration says the Southwest Med-Evac helicopter was working in a support role for training missions when the it crashed around 7:30 p.m. Friday.

A representative from the helicopter's parent company told the NBC Affiliate in El Paso that pilot William Montgomery and paramedics John Sutter and Anthony Archuleta died in the crash. Federal authorities are investigating. A Lubbock EMS worker tells us Southwest Med-Eevac flies into Lubbock frequently. He knew paramedic Archuleta, and says he and the other victims will be missed.
