Council looks to save millions on water project

By James Clark | email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock water customers stand to save millions of dollars on the Lake Alan Henry project. This week the City Council will consider a $41 million loan from the Texas Water Development Board.

A loan from the board is 2% less interest than what the city could get if it were to sell municipal bonds. So over the course of 20 years, taxpayers could roughly 10 million dollars. The city will also consider new restrooms at the Fiesta Plaza, near the intersection of North University Avenue and the Canyon Lake System.
