FAA tests Instrument Landing System at Lubbock Airport

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Airport officials are waiting for the FAA to determine whether or not the Instrument Landing System (ILS) can be used again.

The FAA's ILS check flight finished around 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Officials say the test didn't find anything and now they are back on the ground to analyze the data.

The FAA says it could take a while to make a final say on whether the ILS is ready for operation. They say the equipment was fine, but the signals were distorting data sent to the planes, causing dozens of cancellations and delays during the recent bad weather.

NewsChannel 11 will keep monitoring the progress of the FAA and will let you know when the ILS is up and running again.
