Almonds Could Lower Your Cholesterol

The next time you enjoy a handful of almonds, don't feel guilty. The American Heart Association says you can pat yourself on the back instead, thanks to a new study that credits almonds with lowering LDL, or the so-called bad cholesterol, by over 4% after eating just one serving.

With two servings, it drops LDL cholesterol by more than 9%. The report adds that in addition to fighting cholesterol, almonds are a good source of vegetable protein.
