LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Great news just in time for Valentine's Day, it appears eating chocolate may lower your risk of having a stroke! A new study of nearly 45,000 people finds those who eat one serving of chocolate a week have a 22% reduced risk for having a stroke, than people who don't eat any chocolate.
Another study links indulging in chocolate weekly with a lowered risk for dying after having a stroke. Chocolate is rich in flavonoids, antioxidants that may have a protective effect against stroke, but as always moderation is the key.
