LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – The Skin Cancer Foundation is encouraging couples to take time this Valentine's Day to perform skin cancer checks on each other. It seems a loving relationship could better catch a potential problem.
A recent study from Northwestern University found couples with close bonds are three times more likely to perform skin exams because they are less self-conscious. Experts recommend partners check each other's scalp and back to catch problems you may not see yourself.
Any skin growth that has changed in color, size, or texture, or has an irregular border should be seen by a doctor.
