City Hires Collection Agency to Enforce Library Fines

If you check out library books here in Lubbock, here's a new reason to keep better tabs on when they need to be returned. Starting April 7th Lubbock libraries will be sending out letters to people who have books more than 45 days late or who owe more than $25 in fines.

If you have overdue books or still have past-due fines, you have until April to pay them. After that Library Interim Director Jane Clausen says the amount owed could be sent to a collection agency. On top of that, a $10 charge will be added to your bill.
