You're in the middle of an important conversation on your cellphone and then, BAM!!! The battery goes dead. Take a look at this product called The Quick Charger. The makers claim their product can charge your phone instantly, giving it the boost it needs so you can finish those phone calls. But Does It Work?
Joe from Express Wireless rumaged up a phone for our test. "This is a low battery?" NewsChannel 11 asked. "Yes ma'am," Joe said.
With The Quick Charger, you get four different adapters that will fit most Samsung, Motorola, Nokia, and Ericsson phones. It's simple to work. Just plug the adapter into the battery pack and plug in the phone. "We're on the charging circuit so it will show that it is charging," said Joe.
On the box, it really doesn't say how long its going to take. It just says Quick Charger. So both Joe and I waited 20 minutes before pulling the phone off the charger. "It didn't charge any. Didn't charge much," said Joe.
"But really, tell me the purpose behind this," asked NewsChannel 11. "You know really, if you're making a phone call, you'll want to be able to complete your phone call. If you don't have enough battery life, this would extend the battery time on it. So, it's really not designed to charge your phone to its full capacity," said Joe.
And to prove that, he demonstrated on a phone with dead battery. "This one's not indicating any charge on the circuit yet, but the phone's working off the charger," Joe said. Power up your phone, because the quick charger works.
