SHALLOWATER, TX (KCBD) - Dr. Kenny Border has been assigned to the head baseball coaching position for the remainder of the year. Mike Eckles will remain on administrative leave with pay concerning his coaching duties for the rest of the spring semester. Eckles will continue his teaching duties.

Jeff Richardson will assume some pitching coach duties along with his softball head coach responsibilities. Richardson will instruct pitchers on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Ben Prowell will move up into the first assistant role with Jared Aven being added to the staff as an assistant coach when his basketball responsibilities end.

"After review of all the information during my investigation and always keeping the student athletes in mind, I feel it is in the best interest of all our programs to take this action at this time," said Phil Warren, superintendent of schools.
