LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Investigators with the Department of Public Safety say alcohol may be a factor in a Saturday morning crash east of Slaton. Authorities say Levi St. Clair, 19, of Post suffered serious injuries when the pick-up he was driving rear-ended a tractor trailer on U.S. Highway 84 just before 5:00 a.m.

UMC reported St. Clair in satisfactory condition Saturday evening.  Investigators estimate he was driving 90 to 95-miles-per-hour when he rear-ended the tractor trailer in the westbound lanes of Highway 84.

Authorities say they discovered alcohol in the Ford pick-up St. Clair was driving, but couldn't say for certain it played a roll in the accident at this time. The semi driver was not injured.
