LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – The Nation's pediatricians say they'd like to see hot dogs redesigned in order to pose less of a choking hazard to kids.
More than 10,000 kids under age 14 are sent to the emergency room each year after choking on hot dogs and about 77 die. The American Academy of Pediatrics is calling for warning labels on hot dogs because they say hot dogs are the perfect size, shape and texture to become lodged in a child's throat.
