Plans for a new jail in Lubbock County are coming together. Lubbock County Officials met with their top four architectural firm candidates this week. Each of the four companies presented their models for a new jail. County Commissioners and Jail Administrators are looking for a firm they can communicate with, to get the jail built efficiently and get the best product for the price.
This $83-million facility is the largest jail project in the South West that is funded, and County Officials say they are ready to move forward.
A special commissioners meeting is scheduled for Monday to select the number one firm for the job.
