LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - After weeks of not working, this week's winter storm was a good test for the instrument landing system at the Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport.
The ILS, which had been down for about two weeks, is working.
Aviation Director James Loomis says there were two flights cancelled Tuesday morning due to the weather.
FAA Investigators say electrical arcing at several poles and a substation near the airport caused the problem with the ILS.
