LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Are you or someone you know, struggling with asthma? Poor asthma control is associated with trips to the emergency room, hospitalization and even death. Dr. Goutam Shome, an allergist and asthma specicalist at covenant is launching a free clinical study to see if educating patients in regular office visits can help control their asthma and improve their quality of life.
"Asthma medicines are expensive, if you do not use it correctly those medications are of no use and we'll teach them how to use the medicine correctly," said Dr. Shome. "On the top of that, we're also assessing lung function once in every three months, total of four, so we'll be able to see whether the lung function improves through their education."
Dr. Shome says you just need to be at least six years of age to participate in this study. If you'd like to sign up, please call (806)725-8420.
