LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Tech Terrace Neighborhood Association reacts after their meeting with city officials over partying concerns and after a 62-year-old resident was attacked in her own front yard.
Select members of the Tech Terrace Neighborhood Association met with the Lubbock Police Chief and City Manager on Wednesday to discuss a recent party that led to an aggravated assault.
Syd Seidman, the treasurer of the neighborhood association, emailed city officials after Saturday's incident. She says the city quickly responded and they met with the Police Chief, the Mayor, City Manager, City Attorney and others.
This isn't the first time they have met with city officials, but Seidman feels this time their voices were heard.
"For the first time, and it's tragic that it took an assault to do this, for the first time I really feel that everybody there in our position, it could have been someone just like me, assaulted and my husband having to defend me in my own front yard," says Seidman.
Coming up tonight after the Olympics, we will have more from Wednesday's meeting.
