City of Lubbock's checkbook will be open for the public to view

Posted:

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Lubbock City Council unanimously approved a resolution that will make the City's check book open to the public.

As NewsChannel 11 first told you on Sunday, Councilman John Leonard proposed the idea. The City already posts its yearly budget and yearly financial report online.

Now, they will also post their check book on the City's web site. Council says this resolution includes expenses for Lubbock Power and Light. The public will be able to view the documents in two or three months.
