LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The city has broken ground on a big project in south Lubbock.
Friday morning, city leaders held a groundbreaking ceremony at Byron Cowling Self Storage, for the widening of South Indiana Avenue. They hope the construction won't inconvenience drivers for too long. "We are looking for construction to conclude by the end of the year. It should go relatively quickly if the weather allows us to because there is so much vacant land," said Mayor Tom Martin.
The project will widen Indiana to seven lanes from 103rd Street to FM 1585. Construction should be complete by the end of the year.
