Researchers find another reason why secondhand smoke is dangerous

By Kristin Beerman | email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – There is another reason to quit smoking because it could be damaging your child's heart.  Researchers in Finland found children exposed to large amounts of secondhand smoke had damage to their blood vessels by the age of 13.

Teens with the most exposure had the greatest thickening of the blood vessel walls, which makes them more likely to develop hardening of the arteries and heart disease.
