LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – After years of decline, a new study finds alcohol and drug use is increasing among teens. The use of ecstasy has jumped from 6% in 2008 to 10% in 2009 and alcohol use grew from 35% to nearly 40% during that same time.
The study is from the Partnership for a Drug-Free America and among the parents surveyed, more than 20% said they knew their kids were using drugs or alcohol, but nearly half said they waited too long to intervene, or never mentioned it at all.
