Smyer Lady Cats Roll

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Playing in the State Tournament in Austin for the first time in school history, the 10th ranked Smyer Lady Cats pounded #21 Louise 76-34 in the 1A Division I State Semifinals in Austin.

Smyer showed no jitters as they hit their first 10 shots from the floor to take a 21-8 first quarter lead. Super Sophomore Haley Fowler, who led all of West Texas in scoring averaging 27 points a game, had 17 in the first and finished with 25 in only 22 minutes of action. Kennedy Farr added 15 and Jordan Locke had 18.

Leading 30-14 at the half, the Lady Cats pulled away in the third outscoring the Lady Hornets 26-4.

Smyer advances to the State Title Game Saturday Morning at 8:30am and will meet either Martin's Mill or Muenster.
