LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Area families spent Thursday night and Friday morning celebrating an emotional reunion. Four local Marines returned home just after 10 p.m.

Thursday night greeted at the Marines Reserve Center by family, friends, and fellow Marines. "It was really heartwarming.  Once they got to the unit and opened the big door I saw everybody, just warm faces. It felt great. Exactly what I would have wanted to come home to, and it felt really good to come home again," said Cpl. Daniel Newman.

They traveled about 26 hours to get home after months of working in both Iraq and Kuwait. Now that they're home, they plan to enjoy all of the things they've missed.

"The entire time, I just wanted to see my mom and my brother, and I wanted a big steak and to see some grass," said Newman.

The Marines said they were busy while deployed, but morale oversees was good, and they were happy to serve.
