Levelland 7th grader to compete in National Spelling Bee

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Saturday, kids from across the South Plains competed for their chance to represent West Texas to the rest of the nation. The students faced off in the Regional Spelling Bee held at The Science Spectrum.

Elliot Hanna, a 7th grader from Levelland I.S.D. won with the winning word "paradoxical". The kids went 8 rounds before they found a winner.

Now, Elliot will represent the region at the nationals in Washington D.C.
