LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock man remains in the hospital in serious condition, and the suspect is still on the loose after an overnight shooting in East Lubbock. LPD responded to a disturbance call in the 1900 block of East 1st Street around 2 a.m. Saturday morning.
When they got to the residence, police found a shooting victim. 45-year old Edward William Shedd was involved in an altercation earlier Saturday morning at Popa Domioes Club where someone shot him several times. His family came to pick him up and took him home where he collapsed. The family then called 911, and they quickly responded and transported him to University Medical Center where he remains in serious condition.
"What we understand is that the victim and the suspect became involved in an altercation. What we understand so far is the suspect apparently assaulted the victim physically and when the victim turned to walk away, apparently then the suspect then opened fire on the victim and shot him several times," said Captain Greg Stevens with the Lubbock Police Department.
Police have not said whether or not the men knew each other. They have a suspect in mind, but have not named him at this time. They describe the suspect as a black male in his 20s, 5'11, 185lbs, and he was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
If you have any information that could help LPD in this investigation you are urged to call Crime Line at (806) 741-1000.
