Lubbock doctor heads to Haiti

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock doctor will head to Haiti next week to help with the devastation there. It's been more than a month since an earthquake tore the country apart.

However, they still need lots of help so Dr. John Thomas plans to bring a group of 20 people from Lubbock to volunteer and give medical care in Haiti in May. He'll leave next week by himself to assess the hospital where the Lubbock volunteers will help treat patients.

Dr. Thomas is the head of a local group he founded called Operation Hope which sponsors medical missions across the globe.
