LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center has picked its new President.
After approval from the Board of Regents last month, they named Dr. Tedd Mitchell as the sole finalist for the position. State law requires 21 days must pass before any official final action is taken.
Mitchell currently serves as President of the Cooper Clinic, an internationally recognized center for preventative medicine, in Dallas. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch, and his Bachelor's of Science from Stephen F. Austin University.
Elmo Calvin has served as Interim President since September 2009. He will return to his position as Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration.
