Gusty winds and raining mud expected for Lubbock Monday

By Karin Slyker | email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Lubbock area residents can expect strong winds from now into tomorrow, as a low pressure system makes its way across the South Plains. Sustained winds will continue between 30-35 miles per hour, with gusts topping 50 miles per hour tonight.

There may also be a few sprinkles mixed in here and there, but KCBD NewsChannel 11 Meteorologist Cary Allen says there will be no accumulation.

The bottom line: Hang on to your car doors, pick up any loose objects in your yard, and secure your basketball goals and trampolines.

If you are stepping out this afternoon or tonight, you will experience gusty winds and possible raining mud. You will also hear the wind outside your home at bedtime.
