LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Almost two months ago a major earthquake shook the capital of Haiti. While relief efforts continue, Breedlove Foods say there is very little left of the three million servings it sent.
CEO David Fish spent ten days in Haiti and says current relief efforts would not be possible without help from West Texans. The non-profit company plans to send an additional one million servings to Haiti.
"There's literally probably tens of thousands of people that will be able to live because of efforts of organizations and individuals here in Lubbock who have been supportive of this effort," says CEO David Fish.
Breedlove hopes some of that next shipment will reach Haitians in rural areas. Breedlove makes a single serving of food for five cents. American State Bank branches are still accepting donations for Haitian relief efforts.
