Red Raiders beat Colorado in first game of Big 12 Tournament

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI (KCBD) - At the Big 12 Championships in Kansas City, the Red Raiders topped Colorado 82 to 67 to snap a 7 game losing streak.

John Roberson led 4 players in double figures as Tech won their opening round game for the 8th time in the last 9 years.

Tech is now 17-14. Texas Tech assured itself of a winning record to bolster its NIT chances and keep alive its slim NCAA hopes. The Red Raiders move on to face top-ranked Kansas in the quarterfinals Thursday.

Colorado (15-16) beat Texas Tech to end the regular season on a three-game winning streak but became uncharacteristically careless with the ball in the rematch, turning it over 19 times.
