Attorneys for Leach say deposition went well

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Former Texas Tech football coach Mike Leach finished his sworn testimony in his lawsuit against the University over his termination.

For nearly seven hours, Leach was questioned in the basement of Lubbock National Bank on Main Street.

After the depositions, Leach's attorneys spoke with the media, saying that they felt it went really well.

Tech fired leach on December 30th, two days after suspending him because of allegations that he mistreated player Adam James who had a concussion.

Friday afternoon, Leach's legal team spoke with confidence stating that the Texas Tech depositions of Chancellor Kent Hance and Texas Tech attorney Charlotte Bingham went poorly and supported Leach's legal position.

That's why they say some recent videos have been surfacing on the Internet.

"We understand that some videos of Coach Leach regarding two games have been released by Texas Tech and we submit that is no coincidence," says Leach's attorney Paul Dobrowski.

Those videos surfaces on various websites and YouTube. Texas Tech says it released the locker room speeches as part of an open records request filed by a media organization.

The game day speeches were recorded during two games last season. They are laced with profanities as Coach Leach talks to players about getting into the games and playing at levels fans expect.

Leach's legal team says they are fully prepared to go to trial.

Coming up on NewsChannel 11 at 6, we'll have more details and you will get to hear from Leach himself.
