WOLFFORTH, TX (KCBD) - Frenship Independent School District and Bennett Elementary are proud to announce Principal Rhonda Dillard has been named one of 11 finalists for the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association National Distinguished Principal Award.

Dillard was named a finalist by TEPSA representatives from the state organization's more than 5,600 members.

Dillard has served as principal at Bennett Elementary since 2006 and has been in Frenship I.S.D. since 2003. During her time at Bennett, the campus twice received an Exemplary rating by the Texas Education Agency in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.

Bennett has also been recognized recently for high academic performance by the National Center for Educational Achievement and the 2009 Just for the Kids Campaign for Higher Performing Schools in Texas.

Before becoming principal at Bennett, Dillard served in Frenship I.S.D. as the principal at Casey Elementary from 2003-2006. Casey also received an Exemplary rating during Dillard's time as principal in 2003-2004.

The lone finalist will be announced in May during a surprise visit to the recognized principal's campus. All finalists will be recognized in June during the TEPSA awards banquet in Austin.
