LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock native got her 15 seconds of fame earlier this year with a Bollywood film called Dance Pe Chance.

Sapna Rohra, 24, and a friend won a national contest to get a dance role in the film.  The film grossed a little more than 100 million Rupee, which is more than $2 million in U.S. Dollars.  We caught up with her this weekend on a return trip to Lubbock.

"It's a Bollywood film and it was released in India in January," says Rohra.  "It was also released in the United States in January.  It's pretty popular here within the Indian community, but definitely most popular in India."

Rohra, a graduate of Johns Hopkins University, now lives in Los Angeles as a dancer and choreographer. She tells KCBD that she is now a manager at Millennium Dance Complex. She is also a co-owner of a dance choreography company called Karmography.

While in Lubbock, her dance training included Talent Plus, Briercroft Academy Of Dance, and participation in Westerner Spirit at Lubbock High.
