LUBBOCK, TX The Texas Tech women's basketball team has been selected to play in the 2010 Postseason Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). The Lady Raiders (17-14) will host Houston (17-14) on Thurs., March 18 at the United Spirit Arena. Game time will be announced on Tues., March 16.

Tech is one of 64 teams to be chosen for the WNIT and one of two (Kansas) Big 12 schools competing in the tournament.

"We are excited that our team will get to experience postseason play," said head coach Kristy Curry. "We feel like this experience will really benefit our 10 freshmen and sophomores with the extended practice time and game experience as we head into the 2010-11 season."

The winner of the game will advance to the second round and play Wyoming or Nevada. Site for the second round game will be determined after the first round games.

All games in the single-elimination format are played at the home facilities of participating schools.
