LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The return of a Lubbock soldier is late but no less cherished.  Marine Lance Corporal Brandon Tidrow was scheduled to be home in January, but duty called was re-deployed directly from Iraq to Afghanistan.

As of Friday night, he's on his way home, and as luck has it, his flight has been delayed. Even with all of the unforeseen delays, it's not enough to dampen his family's enthusiasm.  They've decorated a house in central Lubbock in anticipation of his arrival, and can't wait for him be home.

Barry Tidrow, Brandon's father, says, "This is a minor delay we are still going to be excited. He will be here tomorrow [Saturday]. The plan of him being here has just changed."

Tidrow was overseas for nine months.  KCBD NewsChannel 11 will try to catch up with the family when his plane finally touches down in Lubbock.
