LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
Lubbock, TX (KCBD) - The first day of spring is Saturday but it feels more like winter. The week started with rain and sleet and it looks like it will end that way too.
"We are expecting another storm. We've had a lot of them in this El Nino pattern. We should have rain changing to snow and blustery north winds," says Jody James, a warning coordinator for the National Weather Service in Lubbock.
Expect to wake up with precipitation on the ground Saturday morning. Bridges and overpasses are the first to ice over. For those of you hoping for warmer weather, James says early models show temperatures below normal for the next three months with a cooling wet pattern.
Areas of blowing snow are expected after 1 a.m. with low temperatures around 26 degrees.
