Name released of man seriously injured in horse accident


LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – The name of a man who was seriously hurt Sunday afternoon has been released.

The accident happened just east of Lubbock in 7000 block of Farm to Market Road 835. 34-year-old Kevin Vaughn fell off a horse and was then trampled at about 4:30 p.m. He was taken by Aerocare with head and back injuries. There was at least one report that he had lost consciousness at the scene. 

Sheriff Kelly Rowe tells KCBD NewsChannel 11 that he was conscious by the time first responders arrived and his injuries were considered serious but not life-threatening.

On Monday afternoon, UMC told NewsChannel 11 that Vaughn is listed in satisfactory condition.
