LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – An author was celebrated Monday at Arrington Cancer Center, sadly, Paula Ray Bentley died of breast cancer last November before her cookbook was complete, but "Paula's Cookbook" was unveiled Monday by the nurses and friends who cared for Paula and helped finished that book in her memory.
"Paula's dream was very unselfish she wanted to share something with other people that were facing cancer and it was her dream because she enjoyed cooking so much to publish with her recipes and recipes of her friends and donate everything to the Chorus of Angels here at the Joe Arrington Cancer Center," said Margaret Chaffin, a dear friend of Paula's who helped finish the cookbook.
As Paula wished, profits from the sale of her cookbook will go to the Chorus of Angels, which is a fund at Arrington that helps patients with gas money, food and lodging when they have to make trips to Lubbock for cancer care. The cookbook is just $15 and you can purchase one at the Arrington Cancer Center, Raintree Christian Church in Lubbock, or at the First Christian Church in Brownfield.
