LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Can you guess how many calories are in a burger and fries, or in a cup of coffee? The answer will be right on the menu, even at a drive-thru if the Center for Science in the Public Interest has its way.
The Food Watchdog Group is pushing new health care legislation that would require large chain restaurants to display calories for each menu item on all menus, which includes the menu displays in drive-thrus and even the menu selection on vending machines.
The CSPI estimates the requirement could go into effect nationwide within three years if it is signed into law.
