Gilbreath Remains Single Candidate In Race For City Council Seat

The final deadline has come and gone and Jim Gilbreath is still the only candidate for Lubbock City Council District Six.

Anyone still wishing to run for the spot had until five o'clock Monday evening to register as a write in candidate. Because Gilbreath is the only candidate, the city will cancel the election and swear Gilbreath in as the newest council member after the May 3rd Election.

By not having an election, the city saved about $45,000.
