LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A longtime area business is a total loss, after a fire early Friday morning.

Rett's Corner Grocery and Station has been a mainstay in the community of Spur for about the past 50 years. Firefighters were called to the business around 1 a.m. Friday morning and arrived to find flames lighting up the night sky.

Investigators believe the fire originated in the attic and began with an electrical problem.

Residents say they recall frequenting the old gas station with their parents, for candy, cokes and groceries.
