Convicted counterfeiter arrested, accused of recidivism

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – A Plainview man, more recently living in Lubbock, has been arrested and accused of counterfeiting money.  Tommy D. Alcorn, 57, had been convicted of a similar crime back in 2006, and was out on supervised release, which is similar to parole.

This week federal agents executed a search warrant of his Lubbock apartment in the 200 block of Avenue S., and a federal judge revoked his supervised release.

Court records say Alcorn passed a fake 10-dollar bill at the Valero convenience story in the 1400 block of University Avenue.  He's also accused of passing a fake 10-dollar bill at the Wendy's restaurant in the 5200 block of Slide Road.

The search warrant indicates that federal officials suspect Alcorn of not only spending fake money but manufacturing it as well.
