Community invited to grand opening of new medical park

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Covenant Health System hosts the grand opening of their new medical park in southwest Lubbock on Tuesday afternoon.

Doors actually opened last summer, but crews just finished one of the more unique features, an underwater gym.

Covenant call it the first of it's kind in Lubbock. It will provide patients with a number of opportunities for rehabilitation exercise.

This facility also provides a number of diagnostic services, which Covenant hopes will make going to the doctor more convenient for patients.

"The reason we decided to build the Southwest Medical Park was because of an extensive survey conducted that revealed the need for convenient healthcare in the rapidly growing area of southwest Lubbock," says Holly Kennedy with Covenant Health System.

You will be able to check out the underwater gym and more starting at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Southwest Medical Center is located at 98th Street and Slide Road.
