U.S. Senator John Cornyn in Lubbock - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - U.S. Senator John Cornyn was in the Hub City on Tuesday to host an economic roundtable discussion with local economic leaders.

Cornyn met with LEDA, the Chamber of Commerce, and others to learn more about why Lubbock has fared better than most Texas cities during the recession.

Though Lubbock and Texas have not been immune to the impact of the recession, Cornyn says Washington could learn from their example. "My constant message when I go back is why can't Washington be more like Texas. We don't want Texas to be more like Washington because we've seen what works here," says Senator John Cornyn, (R) Texas.
