LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The trial for former Hockley County Sheriff David Kinney is expected to wrap up on Thursday.
Kinney was suspended after two of his former deputies, Gordon Bohannon and Jesse Quintanilla, were indicted as part of a drug trafficking ring last July.
Wednesday, Kinney's attorneys rested their case after calling three witnesses to the stand, including Kinney. He says he didn't know the extent of Bohannon and drug ring leader Bobby Froman's relationship, and now says he wished he never knew Bohannon.
Thursday morning, jurors will deliberate and decide if Kinney will be reinstated as the Hockley County Sheriff.
