Protesting Budget Cuts

One agency that could fall victim to the state wide budget cuts took a stand today. On the corner of Texas and main this afternoon, about 22 protesters representing Life Run center protested the budget cuts.

Life Run is an independent living center that's mission is to help people with disability's stay in the city. The budget cuts is expected to effect community services and life run doesn't want to be shut down. "We're have today to bring awareness of the budget cuts that will present them from staying in the community," said Michelle Crain, the Executive Director of Life Run.

Life Run has contacted Senator Robert Duncan's office about the cuts, he released a statement on Wednesday that said, "It is my goal to ensure that the most vulnerable Texans continue to be protected and served."
