Market Lubbock Inc. CEO Resigns

On Wednesday, Market Lubbock Inc. CEO, David Sharp, announced he will step down effective May 9th. Sharp says he is stepping down to pursue private business.

Sharp's decision to resign comes less than one month after an audit of Market Lubbock Inc. uncovered mismanagement. The economic development company was established by city hall.

NewsChannel 11 was the first to tell you about the audit in March, which alleged possible improprieties and misuse of public tax dollars. Sharp resigned Wednesday morning before his board of directors in a meeting closed to the public.

NewsChannel 11 attempted to contact Sharp late Wednesday afternoon, he has not returned our phone calls.
