The City of Lubbock saved $45,000 Wednesday morning. That happened when they cancelled the May 3rd city election and accepted the newest Lubbock city council member.
Jim Gilbreath ran unopposed for district six. So, Wednesday the council accepted him for the position. He will be sworn in May 6th. Gilbreath replaces Ty Cooke and is a graduate of Monterey High School and Texas Tech.
