WACO, Texas - Despite a brilliant pitching effort by Ashly Jacobs (11-2) the Red Raiders can't capitalize and lose a heart-breaker to No. 24 Baylor, 1-0, in the bottom of the ninth.
Jacobs, who has now pitched 21 2/3 consecutive innings of softball without allowing an earned run, scattered five hits, two walks and struck out three through 8.2 innings of work.
Jennifer Lee led Tech at the plate going two for two as the starting designated player. The Red Raiders out-hit the Bears, six to five.
The teams will take the Easter holiday off and will resume action with a 5 p.m. game on Monday.
